The designer, Mark Stewart of Bark River, the formerly named Bark River knife and Tool Company, shows his high-end quality knife making skills with his razor-sharp hunting knife collections. As a skilled and knowledgeable craftsman, he left the Marble Knife Company to create his own unique style of hunting knives at Bark River.

Blade and Handle Designs
The stunning arrays of handle materials used in Bark River hunting knives are impressive both in their presentation and their unique designs. Several of the Micarta resin handles have been used, and colors range from black canvas, green canvas to maroon Linen Micarta. There is an especially sharp looking combination of Micarta and Big horn sheep offered in the hunting series of Bark River hunting knives. Other handle designs for their hunting knives include desert Ironwood, dark curly maple, sambar stag, spalted maple burl, and lignum vitae handles. The Knife blades that fit snuggly into these unique handles are tempered to Mark Stewart’s specifications on heat radius using the Rockwell C Scale. Bark River knives are made with fixed blades with either the 12C27 steel or A-2 tool steel, and have an overall convex flat-ground edge.
