Al Mar Hunting Knives

Even though Al Mar did not start making knives under his name until 1979, he enjoyed several years with Gerber where he learned the trade. His hunting knives are well-known faithful companions of all types of game hunters.

Blades and Hilts
Each of Al Mar’s hunting knives are honed by hand to enhance the beauty found in the knife blade, and made out of high-quality stainless steel like the AUS-6 blades for longer knives, which are tempered with bendable designs for added strength. The laminated steel of the folding VG-2 blades, and the 154cm high carbon stainless steel blades, whether flat-ground, double flat-ground or hollowed ground, stay in high demand. No matter the type of steel used, or whether the knife is made with a serrated, partially serrated, or straight edge, Al Mar hunting knives are well known for their quality, strength and durability. The unique hilt designs are still created with careful attention paid to fine details. Often times, the knife hilt of an Al Mar hunting is crafted from a resin like the rugged Micarta, but other handle materials are used in his hunting knife designs. Some of the popular knife handles like the stag, cocobolo wood, mother of pearl, abalone, and black pearl, often times become collector items for their beauty. AMMS2KB[medium]
